October Release - Uniko Studio

Today we can finally reveal all of the great stamps and dies in the October release at Uniko Studio. There are some great stamps in this release and I have had so much fun creating with them.

I'll show you two cards today and I also made a video for both these cards and you'll find them in the bottom of this post as usual or at my YouTube Channel.

For my cards I focused mainly in the new snowflake die, which I love by the way. My cards are very simple, but I do think that this beautiful die is enough.

So here's the first card:

And here is my second card made with nothing but the die, distress inks and a sentiment stamp.

So that was all I had for today, and I hope you liked the new release and don't forget to check out the Uniko Studio Blog and the rest of the design team blogs for more cards using the new release.

I didn't manage to get the voiceover to work on the next video, so I just fast forwarded it and added some music. So it may not be the best tutorial, but atleast you can see what I did.

Introducing - Uniko Studio Jolly Christmas

After some major issues with the post office refusing to deliver the package with my stamps I can finally share some products from the upcoming release. I have to say I totally love the new release and I can't wait to start using all of the stamps and dies.

Today we are introducing a very special and fun set that includes a super adorable Santa called Jolly Christmas. I love this cute little man so I just had to use him for my first card. And since I missed out on the fun this week I ended up using stamps from three of the new sets. So on my card today you can see a glimpse of the new Background Builders set as well as the new addition to my favorite collection All Occasion Sentiments.

I colored the image in a bit of an unusual way, atleast for me. I used my Distress Markers to color the image, but instead of using them with water I just used them as regular markers. So there is no blending, just plain colors put down on the image, just like I did in kindergarten.

After the image was colored I cut him out, stamped a "hill" and glued the Santa down and added the sentiment. Simple as that! Of course I needed to add some glitter to the image too.

So here's the card, I hope you like it and don't forget to check out the Uniko Studio Blog and the rest of the design team blogs for more cards using the new Jolly Christmas Stamp Set.

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to record a video this time, but I'll record a video showing you all of the new stamps and a new card I've made later on this week.

Black & White Doodle

-----------------

Made a new type of card today and I have to say I actually do like the result. I sat down with some markers and a piece of paper and started doodling. Eventually I ended up with an image that I liked and I made a card from it. I do think I'll be making more cards and art this way in the future.

Do you like it? You can buy this card in my etsy shop craftsbymarleene if you like.

Tag Challenge #140

I don't know where times goes but I just seem to pass by so fast. Another week has gone and I just don't know where the last one went.

Since it is Tuesday again today it's time for another challenge over at SweetStamps.com and this time the theme is Tags. So I have made myself a bit of an "artsy" tag and I hope you like it.

I used Dylusion Spray Inks and Perfect Pearl Mists to make the background. Then I added some layers with a SweetCuts die and some Distress Ink. I put my sentiment in the bottom of the tag and embossed it heavily with white embossing powder. I also added some embossing powder to the whole tag to give if some more texture and interest.

As usual you can join the fun. Make sure to visit the SweetStamps blog for more information and the complete Challenge Rules.

Art Journal - Face

----------------

Today I tried something new in my art journal. I painted a face!
I have to admit that my drawing skills equals those of the kids in kindergarten, but you have to practice to get better right?

I am actually pretty happy with the result since you can actually see that it is a face. It may be a face with screwed up proportions and weird features yes, but it is still a face.

It was so hard to get the colors right and most of all I had trouble with all the lines in her face. I only had a broken brush and my Distress paints so trying to get the lines nice and even was easier said than done.

But still, the art journal is for having fun and try new things and practice so I don't really care about the result anyway.

Center Step Card Challenge #139

This weeks challenge is Anything Goes, but with a bit of twist. This week the challenge is combined with the Monthly Technique Challenge and this time the challenge is to make a Center Step Card. I have to be honest and tell you that I have never made a card like that and it is not something I have ever thought of doing either. I kind of stick to making simple cards in "normal" formats. But as always it is fun with a challenge and I did the best I could. I have to say I found it to be hard and I didn't really know what to do with all the spaces on the card. But I ended up using some red and white cardstock. I did some paper piecing and added a few diecuts and ofcourse lots of glitter and glimmer :) So I hope you like the card.

As usual you can join the fun. Make sure to visit the SweetStamps blog for more information and the complete Challenge Rules.

Fall Challenge #138

Another week has passed and it is time for another challenge over at SweetStamps.com. This time the theme is Fall. I didn't really have any stamps that I thought fit the theme so I ended up using a cute little rabbit and some papers from Prima - Engraver Collection in some great fall colors.

I colored the rabbit using some copic markers and added some final touches with stickles and glossy accents. As usual a pretty simple card, but I hope you like it.

As usual you can join the fun. Make sure to visit the SweetStamps blog for more information and the complete Challenge Rules.

You are never alone

Today I made a new art journal page in my small Dylusions Creative Journal. It has been a long time since I last did a page in my art journals but I recently got the new smaller version of the journal and I just had to put something on the first page. Not that I am the best artist when it comes to art journaling, but I like creating without having any expectations. It is so much fun and I just can't understand why I don't create more art this way.

Here is the page I made:
